Royal Canadian Legion Sarnia branch 62 are hosting a dinner on Saturday, October 25, 2026. This will be a free event for all veterans and your ticket can be picked up by either emailing [email protected] or talking to the staff at the bar on the lower level.

Tickets are available for purchase at $25 each and they can be purchased online at sarnialegion.ca or at the bar in the lower level.

This year we especially would like to honour our Peace Keeper veterans and their families. Our keynote  speaker is Major (Retired) Harold Chadwick.

Major (Ret’d) Harry Chadwick joined the 1st Hussars in 1987 and retired from the Regular Force in 2016 after a distinguished career as an Armoured Officer. His operational service includes Bosnia with the Royal Canadian Dragoons Battle Group (1994–95) under UNPROFOR, and as one of Canada’s first CIMIC Officers with (NATO Stabilization Force (1998–99). He later served as a UN Military Observer and Team Leader in Ethiopia (2001) and as a Staff Officer for Information Operations with the UN Mission in the Congo (2003), where he was among the very few Western officers present during the siege of Bunia, which was ended by the deployment of an Anglo/French Airborne Battle Group.
In Afghanistan, he commanded the CIMIC element of the Kandahar Provincial Reconstruction Team (2006) and served as an Information Operations Staff Officer with Multinational Division Southwest (2007). He also completed an exchange with the UK’s 3rd Armoured Division, preparing British Brigade HQs for deployment to Helmand Province.
He held all squadron officer positions within the 1st Hussars and concluded his service as G3 (Operations Officer) for 31 Canadian Brigade Group in Toronto.
He currently is employed as an Analyst with the Canadian Coast Guard and now finds himself working in the Department of National Defense again.
